It seems like wherever you go on the web these days you are bombarded with offers to make money simply by taking a survey on line. And, if you are as lucky as I am, you get even more offers via email every day. So, we decided that we would actually take a look at some of these online survey places to check on a few things:
Let's get down to it already. Here are 3 survey companies listed in order of how much we made an hour on average over a 60 day period. We are by no means saying that this is what you will make if you decide you use these companies. This is simply how we did using their systems.
Ok, so we are going to start with the leader in online surveys today, Paid Surveys Online. As far as I know, they have been around the longest and seem to perform better than any of the other paid survey companies we have come across. It is probably due to the fact that they were the first and have really paid attention to making the process easy and succesful for their users. Over the past 60 days we have made just over $800. That is really not bad considering I did not leave the computer or my home. I was able to do them on my time which was really nice. It is kind of like having a second job that you can do whenever you want to or have time. It took me just under 40 hours to complete these surveys...so that pencils out to about $20 an hour. Not bad if you ask me. $20 an hour is a "decent" wage here in the Bay Area, but I am sure that for some of you who live in more rural areas, $20 an hour is great money (and it should be everywhere). I would be sure to pay attention to their tips and advice when selecting a survey to take. It takes a few tries to see what it is like, but once you get the hang of it, you will be a pro in no time.
I actually like the Survey Scout interface a bit better than the Paid Online Surveys GUI, but the numbers worked out a little better for POS in the end. We were able to make just under $19 an hour using the Survey Scout system over the same 60 day period and spending about 40 hours taking surveys and questionaires. It is actually pretty surprising to me that we were able to do as well as we did with these survey systems and Survey Scout is a great one. The difference between them and the first place finisher were really small and you may find, as I did, that the interface is a little better/easier to use.
Now to our 3rd place finisher, Survey Platinum. Survey Platinum performed a little worse than our first two survey companies. For whatever reason, their surveys just pay a little less than the competition. I am not sure if this is due to them making more money off the deal or if they just don't get as good of a deal as Paid Online Surveys or Survey Scout. Whatever the reason, we were able to make just under $16 an hour, which is still respectable and good. The user interface is nice and I really don't have anything bad to say about their system other than it made us less than the other two did.
The bottom line is that all of these systems worked well for us and to be honest, I was quite surprised. This is a great way for everyone from college students to stay at home moms to make some extra money when they have some free time. Some of these questionaires and surveys can be completed in 10-15 minutes and you can actually make money taking them. If you are smart with your time, you can made decent money taking these surveys. When we first started this project, figured this might be a little much to bite off, but we always like to set the bar pretty high.
